Three words for summer: risk, dependence, family.
// Risk //
I decided to commit to a life of stepping into the unknown. I think boldness suits me. There are some deeply good things ahead. Three nights a week at camp, I belted You Make Me Brave (Bethel Music) and now it has become a sort of anthem.
"No fear can hinder now the promises you've made."
// Dependence //
I realized how desperate I am for stillness and rest and the presence of Jesus each day. A busy lifestyle chokes life out of me. It makes me sick. I will continue to set boundaries and say no to things that are not my best yes.*
// Family //
I learned that family is a choice. Anyone can be your family, but it takes a lot of work. Unity is only possible through good listening, intentional communication, humility, and prayer. I've messed up family a lot in the past. I am inspired to love better.
Note:
* The "best yes" is language I adopted from reading "The Disease to Please" by Katrina Sherfield. It has inspired me greatly. Read the article at:
